Session I: Introduce those new students to the fundamentals of the art of mime. Students gain a general understanding of what mime was in the past and how it is used today. We begin to learn the physical and dramatic skills that provide a strong foundation for the art. The class curriculum includes specialized movement skills, expression of emotions, and stabilization techniques.
Session II: The succeeding sessions build on the concepts and skills introduced in the first session. Techniques are explored in greater detail with more emphasis on mastering these skills. This is also the introduction of combining mime with music, song selection, attire, application of makeup and dramatization. The entire workshop will demonstrate a way of communicating and connecting through the art of Pantomime, which is an expression without words. The workshop will teach students to connect with the mind, body and spirit.
Upon completion of the workshop, the students will be equipped and enabled to present the Gospel via pantomime. They will be able to tell a story by using, non-verbal communication, facial expression, and dramatic gestures. The student will be able to express him or herself in a positive, creative manner. Gospel mime is God's word from a visual stand point!
